Swine Flu & Antiviral Medication Tamiflu

Seasonal flu occurs every year, usually in the winter. It’s a highly infectious disease caused by a number of flu viruses. The most likely viruses that will cause flu each year are identified in advance and vaccines are then produced to closely match them. As with most seasonal flu vaccines, this year’s vaccine will protect against three types of flu virus. You should receive the seasonal flu vaccination each year.

If you have a child who is considered high risk, especially a serious respiratory or neurological condition, they will be able to have a seasonal flu vaccination provided by the NHS free of charge.

It is best to have the seasonal flu vaccination in the autumn before any outbreaks of seasonal flu.

If you would like to make an appointment for your child to receive a dose this year, the next clinic dates are Saturday, 1st October, 29th October, 26th November and 10th December. The current price of the combined seasonal flu vaccine is £55.00 per dose.
