HPV - The Vaccine
Gardasil was specifically developed to prevent 4 types of HPV (cervical cancer and genital warts) types 6, 11, 16 and 18. Cervarix that it offered by NHS only protects against 2 types of cervical cancer (16 and 18)).
Technically, the vaccine Gardasil can be given from the age of 9 but our clinic policy is to administer from age 12. There is no upper age limit. 3 injections are required, the second 2 months after the first and the third 6 months after the first.
